Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Sue’s Driving School is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets investing in more modern lorries with the latest emission reduction technologies.  Moving to hybrid then all electric as it becomes available.

As we grow a fairer way would be to average the emissions and report the average for if we have another 5 lorries that would double our output even though we are reducing the output per vehicle.

The scope 3 figure is calculated from information provided by the companies we use and as far as I am aware not peer checked and not ignoring the recent emissions scandal a best guess from the suppliers.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 138tCO2e by 2028 This is a reduction of 16.85%

Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2018 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 23.79 tCO2e, a 12.53% reduction against the 2018 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

We have adopted start stop and hybrid technology, we have always encouraged and mentored eco driving and are aiming at another 16% drop by 2028 with net 0 by 2040.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as: In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets investing in more modern lorries with the latest emission reduction technologies.  Moving to hybrid then all electric as it becomes available.
